The Kyiv municipal administration has decided to reconstruct the Kontraktova Square and Sahaidachnoho Street in the Podil district of Kyiv by the year 2011.
This is stated in a directive issued by the Kyiv municipal administration, a text of which Ukrainian News obtained.
The reconstruction project provides for reconstruction of road surfaces and sidewalks on the Kontraktova Square and Sahaidachnoho Street, erection of a monument to Petro Mohyla, restoration of the Kontraktova building complex on Architect William Heste Avenue and the magistrate building on the square, and restoration of buildings and structures long Sahaidachnoho Street.
The Kyiv municipal administration has selected the Podil district administration's department of capital construction and reconstruction to place the order for design of the project.
The department is to process the documents necessary for the land plots involved in the reconstruction project, and obtain the permits necessary for the reconstruction project from the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the municipal administration's main department of protection of cultural heritage.
The department and the municipal administration's main department of economics and investments were also instructed to consider the possibility of obtaining investment in the reconstruction project.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv municipal administration announced in July that it intended to reconstruct the Kontraktova Square and Sahaidachnoho Street.
